Bongo Jobs Profile
job boards

Traditional job boards just don’t do the job anymore.

Employers are tired of wasting time sifting through piles of resumes searching for the needle in the haystack for every position. It’s far more efficient and faster to conduct targeted searches and find people in our extensive database. There’s no more waiting to see if you’ve been chosen. The opportunity is now and employers want to talk to prospects quickly.

With Bongo, the ball is in your court. Let the jobs you want come to you. Not the jobs you don't!

Create a free profile where your name and contact information remain anonymous while stating the type of job and salary you desire. Employers will know your target jobs and if they send messages that are considered spam, they will be removed from Bongo.

Receive messages from employers that include the details of new job opportunities + salary. Then decide if you want to respond and learn more. Easily opt out at any time.

You won’t have to apply for jobs and then never hear back. Employers are already interested in you.

No Resumes! No Postings! No Headaches!

Our unique way of recognizing the candidate first results in a system that can get you great employees - like nothing else out there.

We built Bongo to make a connection between people and employers looking to fill jobs. To do this, we went back to our recruiting roots and redefined what a job board does (because they no longer work) - we created a "Candidate Referral System."

We want to make it simple for you to find employees. Times have changed and the way employers build a team will need to change. Our goal is to make “introductions.” We bring people into our database who are open to receiving job-related messages with the skills you need. You message them and let them know how to best connect with you and why they should. Remember - make it simple and have a conversation! Let’s remove the obstacles!

Bongo Jobs

Let’s change the way we look at job boards. Why create lengthy job postings and hope people read them and then respond? We removed that from the equation. Guess what - we also removed resumes! Why should someone be considered over someone else because they can create a better resume (or pay someone to do it)? Let's look at someone's interests, what they want to do, and their skill level. Let's start the conversation and find some awesome employees using Bongo!

A candidate referral system is the new trend in recruitment started by BONGO!

No resumes to review

No more reviewing tons of applicants responding to your postings

One simple profile is used to determine if you want to have further conversations

Conduct a simple search based on what the potential candidate is interested in doing and their skill level

Use our communication tool in the system for a message that gets a positive response

Use our communication tool in the system for a message that gets a positive response

You’ll always know the desired salary before even reaching out

We eliminate "spamming" which is good for employers (who don't do this) and candidates

No job postings to create

Our system is geared towards the candidate to encourage participation so you have top quality people to message

Cost-effective for companies of all sizes with low risk

Resumes and lengthy job postings can deter people from applying

We ask what a candidate wants to do and how good they are at that skill. Resumes don’t always show what someone wants - just what they have done

Our system removes any bias caused by resumes

Recruiters built this system and Recruiters use recruitment methods and gamification to bring people into our database.

Frequently Asked Questions

We do not release your name or contact info to employers. Employers have access to your profile (Career Interests and Skills) but not your name, email, or phone. Their message comes from our system and they are contacting you solely due to an interest in speaking with you about an opportunity. It is up to you to reach back out and share your information or contact them directly. This keeps control in your hands.

As long as you are active in our database, you will be automatically entered every month. Winners will be selected the first Monday of the following month. Winners will be contacted via email or text. We will be giving out $100 gift cards each month and the number awarded will be dependent on the number of messages sent that month. For every 200 messages, we will give away (1) gift card. A maximum of 50 gift cards a month will be given out. Please see full rules in the app.

None! Never! Any fees are paid by employers (as it should be). As a matter of fact, we share those fees via monthly sweepstakes with all people who are active in our database.

We do the sweepstakes to have a little fun and to give those using our system a way to share in the revenue generated by employers!

We want Bongo to be the starting point of a conversation. Life happens and previous work history isn't always the most important thing. Sometimes, it is nice to start off with a conversation and turn the focus to what you (the potential candidate) wants to do next. Sure, work history will be asked at some point but let's get conversations started first.

We do not collect resumes and this is by design. We use a quick form based on what someone wants to do and if it matches what an employer is looking for, they will send a message. You can respond if you are interested in the job being presented. The employer may ask for a resume at some point, but we want Bongo to be the introduction to the company. We don't need a resume for that!

There are none! No job postings to review. Who likes them anyway? All you need to do is fill out a quick profile. When an employer searches and comes across your confidential information, they will reach out. They will provide you with the details of the company and the position. If it sounds good, you can follow up. If it doesn't, you don't need to.

No problem! Just log into the system and go to the profile section. The profile section will consist of the initial form you created. Make your changes and click "Save." If you don't know your password, just go to the login section and click "Forgot Password."

First, let's discuss what we consider "spam." Spam would be a message that is not a legitimate job opportunity (like MLM). But, we go beyond the normal career platform, we also consider spam anything that is not close to what your profile lists. We know it is frustrating to receive messages from employers that have nothing to do with your interests. If you indicate your interests are in marketing and you receive a message for an accounting job, that is considered spam. If you indicate your salary range and the opportunity is not in-line, that is spam. If you list "any job" then, that leaves you open to various opportunities.

Well, you certainly aren't alone! Check out this website from o-net (particularly the "Tell us what you like to do" section) - If that doesn't help, reach out to us at and we'll try to provide other resources to assist.

Well, that is up to you. If you think it sounds like an opportunity you would like to check out further, simply reach back out to the employer using the details in the message they sent. Remember - they can't contact you via phone or email since we don't release that information. They can only message you from our system. If you aren't interested in the job they sent, you really don't need to do anything.

Wouldn't you like to know? :) Well, the majority of our effort is spent behind the scenes. We use our recruiting skills to find people that aren't necessarily looking for jobs. We don't just use SEO and depend on Google to find us job seekers. That has already been done and doesn't always work. There are so many awesome people out there who aren't on job boards. We search them out!

Do you really want to? Seriously, we don't offer that by design. We are not a typical "job board." We don't ask employers to post a job, then hope that someone finds it, actually reads it, and then maybe applies. We do things differently. We encourage people with the skills that employers want, to fill out a quick profile. We ask what they want to do. Employers can sign up, do a search, and send a message within our system. That message will contain job info and entice the candidate to respond. After this introduction, you can determine if there is a good fit and go further into the interview process.

We know everyone loves looking at resumes, but we don't have any. We ask people to fill out a quick form with their career interests and just enough information for employers to determine if there may be a reason to have a conversation. We are looking to make connections between potential candidates and employers. We don't feel a resume is needed for that to occur. Make the connection and then if there is a fit on both sides, go further into the process.

We consider anything that is not a legitimate job opportunity spam (no MLM type jobs for example) AND we consider spam anything that does not match what the candidate lists of interest in their profile. For example, if someone lists in their profile that they want to be a truck driver and an employer sends a message about a sales opportunity, that is spam. If the candidate lists they are interested in "any job" then that leaves it open. Salary range also must be in the range (or close to it). By keeping messages to candidates consistent with the candidate's desires, it helps everyone. It helps employers because you know you are on a platform that respects good practices and it helps candidates stay on our platform and be less frustrated in the already stressful process of a job search.

We will review any reports of spam by candidates carefully. If the message is considered spam, we will notify the employer and it will be considered "strike 1." The third strike would be a permanant ban from Bongo and nobody wants that - LOL.

We ask the following:

  • Where do you live/work and will you relocate
  • What do you want to do in your next job and what is your skill level (from no experience to expert)
  • Do you have certifications or occupational licenses
  • Industries of interest
  • Education
  • How many hours they are you looking for and what's your availability
  • Salary requirements
  • And that's about it! We think that is enough to know if you want to message this person and we hope you will agree!

We always hope they do, but we also tell candidates that there is no obligation on their part to respond. This is a candidate driven system and we intend to keep it that way. That stated, our goal is to make connections between awesome people and equally awesome employers. If the job details and salary are enticing to the candidate, they will most likely respond. You can always try them again; however, more than twice is not nice.

We know it is a little different, but so are we! When you send a message to a candidate, we take a portion of that fee and share it with the candidates in terms of gift cards. It helps keep candidates engaged, adds a little fun, and lets candidates share in the revenue.

The only fee is to employers (lucky you!). We have a premium offer (it's our only offer) - it is $49 per month and $2.50 per message sent. We don't offer any other pricing tiers. One simple premium product and pricing! Companies of all sizes pay the same. Bigger companies will send more messages and smaller companies will send less messages. Fair all around - right?

While that would be extremely sad for us, we know this new type of recruiting system may not be for everyone. Your subscription is month to month and no pressure to keep using a system you don't like. We would always love to hear your feedback (good and bad). We will do our best to make people happy and look for ways to improve!

    About Us

Bongo offers a new way to connect employers with potential candidates. We aim to put more control in the hands of the candidate and remove barriers. We want to help you get the conversation started.

Bongo was launched in 2022 by a couple of long-time Recruiters/HR Professionals who knew there was a better way (than a traditional job board). Therefore, we created a Candidate Referral System (CRS).

We are based in Rochester, NY. We are part of the RIT Venture Creations Incubator and an IdeaPros Partner.
